Mr. Willie Southward, Jr. Obituary

Mr. Willie B. Southward, Jr., affectionately known to many as "Billy", was born October 25, 1942 in Dade City, Florida to the late Willie B. Southward, Sr. and the late Ruby Southward. Billy received his formal education here in the Pasco County Schools, where he met and made many lasting friendships. He was employed for many years with the formally known, Kash and Karry grocery store, where he was a bright and shining light to many of people he encountered. Billy enjoyed meeting and greeting others, while working in the Produce department. Billy was a fun and loving person, who met no strangers. With his bubbly personality, he drew many in his direction, while working there. Billy later became employed by Winn Dixie, which was his last place of employment. There, he also made many friends and greeted old friends. His laughter and genuine spirit will never be forgotten. As he enjoyed working in the grocery stores, his past time was spent shopping for clothes and cars. He loved to be a sharp dresser outside of work. You could always find him looking sharp and driving his favorite car. Billy will be missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly. Billy was proceeded in death by his parents: his son, Deshawn Southward; his step-son, Aula Penix; his sister, Mable Southward McKinnie; and his brothers, David Southward and Henry Lee Southward. On Sunday, February 15, 2026, Billy answered the Master's call and went home to be at rest, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Katheren Southward: children, Marlon, Sr. Southward and Eric Southward (Natalie); stepchildren, Tara Penix, Akili Penix (Isabel) and Akida Penix; grand children, Marlon Southward, Jr, Aaliyah Southward, Amarri Southward, Robyn Myers, Robert Myers, Jr. (Kayla), Alisha Cheatum (Billy), Jayvaughn Myers, Javionte Penix, Akira Penix, Rosendo Tarango Ayden Penix and Ashleigh Jackson; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Reginald Southward and Ronald Southward; sisters-in-law, Lenola Penix, Robin Penix, Cheryl Penix, and Marilynn Camacho (Jose); brothers-in-law, Robert Penix Jr (Felecia), Mark Penix (Geneva), Alvin Penix (Deina), and Bernard Penix (Adrienne); special friends, Belinda Singleton and Lillian Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
